EMERGENCY MATERNITY SHOOT!

Usually when I get an emergency call from a doctor it's to find out if I'm available to do a NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP shoot (www.nilmdts.org) but today is VALENTINES DAY and this doctor wanted to know if I could come to Brooklyn @ 5 pm to perform a SURPRISE MATERNITY PHOTO SESSION! He was looking on the web for a photog - AND he found the right one! I work 24/7 so it's no problem. I brought my girlfriend to assist and we knocked it up - I mean out!

ART BY THE FERRY, Staten Island, NY

Inspired by Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition(bwac.org) and the need for exhibit space, as budget cuts and the 'powers that be' who control Snug Harbor Cultural Center (snug-harbor.org) no longer provide housing for visiting artists or rent studio space for local artists (and even discontinued the Staten Island Artist Access Gallery), The Staten Island Creative Community (StatenIslandArtists.com) worked together for four months to put together the First Annual "ART BY THE FERRY" showcase. More than a simple vanity project, the vision was to have galleries, performance space and musicians near the ferry, with publicity enough to get the 10,000 daily tourists that ride the World Famous Staten Island Ferry (siferry.com) from Manhattan to GET OFF at this end and discover that Staten Island is an interesting, exciting tourist destination! The dream has been realized by the 300 Artists and musicians, led by the vision of Joyce Goldstein, Susan Grable, Mary Bullock, Mike Shane (sicolab.com) and others with the support of Melanie Cohn, Executive Director, Council on the Art & Humanities for Staten island. COAHSI (StatenIslandArts.org). 2200 visitors came into the Galleries during the 3 day run and the exciting news was in the papers all week! (ArtByTheFerry.org)

Music lessons (for me)

It's always a pleasure to photograph musicians at work, it's really fascinating for me to watch and/ or be part of this creative process, after all I'm the kid who got kicked out of the dance class cause I didn't have any rhythm and the music class cause I couldn't keep a beat! Well that was a long time ago and while I have had a lot of fun making my own music, these guys are the professionals and nothing short of amazing!! Here we are at Sear Sound Studios on 48Th Street, NYC. recording the tracks that will become their newest CD.
